Provide Court Advocacy

To assist you with the legal process, SafeHouse of Seminole has court advocates who help victims of domestic violence obtain injunctions for protection, assist in safety planning, and provide referrals, among other things.

Safety Planning:

A safety plan identifies the steps you can take to increase your safety and helps prepare you, minor children, and any other affected family members to act quickly to protect yourselves in the event of future violence. We encourage you to make a plan while you're living with your abuser at a time when the environment is calm.

If you need safe shelter or want to safety plan with an advocate, call our 24 hour hotline at (407) 330-3933 or (800) 500-1119

Provide Counseling Services and 24 hour Crisis Hotline

The emotional and psychological scars from family violence often remain long after the physical wounds have healed. Fear, loyalty, love, anger, self-blame, betrayal, family pressures, financial insecurity and other emotions may cloud the victim's ability to move on to the next phase in their lives with or without the abuser. Domestic Violence Counselors help them move from "victim" to "survivor" of family violence.

Our advocates conduct individual and group counseling as well as case management. Also on staff in the shelter is a children's coordinator who conducts individual and group counseling for our younger residents.
To find out more about individual and group counseling services and community resource referrals please contact us at 407-330-3933. We are here for you, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Offer Emergency Shelter

The shelter program of SafeHouse of Seminole exists to serve victims of domestic violence and their children who believe that they are in imminent danger in their current living environment.

While at the shelter time is spent on a daily and weekly basis with our domestic violence advocates. The advocates conduct individual and group counseling as well as case management. Also on staff in the shelter is a children's coordinator who conducts individual and group counseling for our younger residents. Setting Short and long term goals is encouraged with hope of empowering the residents to take the lead in bringing those goals to reality.
