Emergency Shelter

Campus Housing for Abused Women and Children

Leaving the safety and comfort of their own homes is never easy for anyone, however, when that home becomes a threat to well-being, having a safe place to go can be life-saving.

At SafeHouse, we provide short and long-term campus housing for women, teenagers and children affected by domestic violence. Our housing is different from others in that we provide families with the comforts of home, including a common living room, kitchen, dining room and playground, as well as semi-private bedrooms. This is a confidential place women and children can come to rest, heal and plan for their future with the help of experienced counselors and surrounded by positive support.

Planning for a Violence-Free Future

During their stay at SafeHouse housing, women and children are provided with much more than a roof and a bed—we are dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives and leave the shelter with an established plan of action. From helping women affected by domestic violence find employment opportunities and housing outside of our housing, to support groups and counseling to overcome abuse, SafeHouse is a next-generation sanctuary working towards a violence-free future for women, teens and children throughout Seminole County.

Services provided at our campus housing include:

  • Safety planning
  • Crisis intervention
  • Food and clothing
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Case management
  • Housing assistance
  • Employment resources
  • Court advocacy
