Victim Services Advocate 

Job Type: Full-Time, Salary and Benefits.

Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday from 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Job Summary:

The advocate will provide direct services, referrals and support to primary and secondary survivors of domestic violence.  Provides comprehensive support services to include, but not limited to, emergency services, shelter intakes and departures, crisis hotline coverage, crisis intervention counseling, advocacy, education, support groups, basic needs assistance, and referrals for other services.

Education/ Experience Required:

  • BA/BS/BSW preferred.
  • Experience may substitute for some of the formal education requirements.
  • Experience working with victims of crime.
  • Knowledge of empowerment based advocacy.
  • Must be high energy, ability to multitask, work in an organized manner, have good computer skills and knowledge of basic data entry.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Candidates considered are subject to criminal background check.

 

Are you a Night Owl!  We have Full and Part-Time positions open for Overnight Shift Advocates.  Overnight advocates work as a team to provide core services to domestic violence survivors.

Full – Time shifts:

(4) ten hour shifts:  Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10:00 pm  –  8:00 am  

OR

(3) 12 hour shifts:  Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8:00 pm – 8:00 am  (must have previous experience working 12 hour shifts.)

Part-Time shift:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11:00 pm – 7:00 am

Job Summary and requirements:

  • Answer the crisis hotline
  • Provide personal advocacy to residents in need
  • Assist with data entry
  • Prepare rooms for incoming residents
  • Maintain and help organized the campus areas such as pantry, clothing closet and kitchen.
  • Able to work independently & manage deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong data entry skills

Education/ Experience Required:

  • Associate Degree, Bachelors preferred
  • Previous overnight experience beneficial
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Candidates considered are subject to criminal background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $12 – $14/hour
